The Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police, Ian Hopkins is to step down from his duties with immediate effect.
This follows Greater Manchester Police being put into special measures following a damning report which found that it had failed to record 80,000 crimes in 12 months.

France detains Epstein ex-associate Brunel over sex crime claims - France 24

Prominent French modelling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, a former close associate of disgraced American billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, has been detained in France on accusations of sex crimes, prosecutors said on Thursday.
Brunel was detained on Wednesday on accusations of rape, sexual assault of minors, human trafficking and being part of a criminal conspiracy, Paris prosecutors told AFP.

Paparazzi agency will not target Meghan in future, high court hears | The Guardian

An insolvent British paparazzi agency that took photos of the Duchess of Sussex and her young son Archie when out for a walk near their home “unlawfully invaded” their privacy and will not take photographs of the family in the future, a court heard on Friday.
Mr Justice Nicklin heard the statement in open court at a remote hearing on Friday in relation to a privacy and data protection claim by Meghan and her son with Prince Harry against Splash News and Picture Agency.
The agency is now in administration - but a statement read to the court said the parties had agreed to settle the claim over the photos, which were taken in a “remote rural setting” in a Canadian park.

The Portuguese forward, 21, took Hakan Calhanoglu's pass in his stride to stroke the unbeaten league leaders ahead virtually from the kick-off.
Leao's goal beat the record of 8.9 seconds set by Piacenza's Paolo Poggi against Fiorentina on 2 December 2001... The goal was even quicker than the fastest strike in Premier League history - Shane Long's effort for Southampton after 7.69 seconds against Watford on 23 April 2019.
