Police questioned an Oxford University lecturer on Friday over the death of a colleague, officials said, in a case with echoes of fictional detective Inspector Morse.
Astrophysics professor Steven Rawlings, a fellow of the famed university's St Peter's College, was found dead at a home in the Oxford suburb of Southmoor on Wednesday, police said.

Network Rail is to be prosecuted for the Grayrigg train crash that killed one passenger and injured 86.
The rail regulator has announced it has started criminal proceedings over the 2007 derailment of a Virgin train in Cumbria, in which an 84-year-old woman died and 28 people were seriously injured.

Ambassador Kristie Kenney was elaborating on an “emergency message” sent by the embassy to American citizens earlier Friday warning of a possible terrorist attack.
