Her Majesty turned 87 on Sunday. The Queen's birthday is one of the designated days on which the Union flag can be erected over City Hall, following a change of policy last December. It previously flew all year long. The removal of the flag sparked months of protests across Northern Ireland, many of which were followed with violence.
