Norfolk helicopter crash: four killed on US military training mission in north Norfolk - Telegraph

Four people were killed when USAF Pave-Hawk helicopter crashed on a routine low fly training mission on the north Norfolk coast, police have said.
The helicopter is an HH-60G Pave Hawk, based at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, a spokesman for the USAF confirmed.
The helicopter crashed in a bird sanctuary raising suggestions that it could have been brought down by a bird struck – a regular hazard for aircraft.

Japan offers to lend US half the cost of 'Super Maglev' train between Washington and Baltimore - Telegraph

The Japanese government has promised to lend the United States half of the cost of building the first "Super-Maglev" train, reducing travel time between Baltimore and Washington DC to just 15 minutes.
Tokyo is so keen to show off its technology that it will provide loans for half the estimated $8 billion (£5bn) cost of installing the tracks, Japan's Asahi newspaper said on Tuesday.

BBC News - CES 2014: PlayStation games go console-free

Sony has announced plans to rollout its cloud gaming service. PlayStation Now will allow subscribers to play some of the platform's greatest hits without the need to own a console.
It works by streaming data from the company's servers. The firm's latest smart TVs will be among the first devices to support it, but Sony also intends to offer the facility to other third-party products.

BBC News - British Museum buys Picasso linocuts

The British Museum has acquired two "important and unique" sets of linocuts made by Pablo Picasso in 1962, aged 80.
They feature the finished prints Still Life under the Lamp and Jacqueline Reading, along with proofs showing their step-by-step evolution.

BBC News - Rooke family treated vulnerable man as 'slave'

An ice cream seller has been jailed for six-and-a-half years for imprisoning a man with learning difficulties and treating him "like a slave".
David Rooke, 44, also pleaded guilty to regular violent assaults on Craig Kinsella, 34, who he forced to live in his garage in Sheffield.
