Prensa Latina News Agency - Japanese Firm Suspends Virtual-Coin Transactions

epresentatives of the firm Mt. Gox reported today suspension of transactions with the virtual coin Bitcoin, as a security measure to protect its users.
Mt. Gox, considered one of the greatest Bitcoin stock exchanges in the world, with more than one million accounts in Japan and other countries, published in its website that the cease of transactions was due to a technical failure in the system.

Chinese authorities have formally arrested a prominent scholar of China's Uighur Muslim ethnic group and charged him with separatism, his wife says.
Ilham Tohti, an economics professor in Beijing, has been critical of China's ethnic policies. He has been detained by police since last month. The US and EU have expressed concern over Mr Tohti's detention.
