Consumer prices rose slightly in September, the latest sign of modest U.S. inflation pressures amid concerns of a global slowdown.
The consumer-price index, which measures how much Americans pay for everything from cars to doctor’s visits, rose a seasonally adjusted 0.1% in September from a month earlier, the Labor Department said Wednesday. When excluding volatile food and energy categories, prices also increased 0.1%.
