The editor of the Independent has said “every instinct” told him to publish the Charlie Hebdo cartoons caricaturing the prophet Muhammad but described it as “too much of a risk”.

The female suicide bomber who blew herself up at an Istanbul police station Tuesday has been identified as a Russian citizen. Diana Ramazova has been named as the female assailant who carried a bomb into the touristic Sultanahmet area January 6, killing one officer and wounding another at a police station.

Sony launches 'world's thinnest' 4K television running Android TV - Telegraph

Sony has unveiled what it claims is the world's thinnest 4K television, the Bravia X90C, which is 4.9mm at its thinnest point – less than an Xperia Z3 smartphone... The X90C runs Google's Android TV operating system, announced in June 2014, which is designed to integrate closely with other Android devices. Users can access movies, music, photos, games, search and apps directly from their TV, or 'cast' content from their smartphone or tablet.

Divers have recovered 39 ingots, which would have been used as decorations, on the sea floor near Sicily. Archaeologists believe they may have belonged to a ship lost in the sixth century.
