President Vladimir Putin signed a decree imposing a raft of punitive economic sanctions against Turkey on Saturday, underlining the depth of the Kremlin's anger towards Ankara four days after Turkey shot down a Russian warplane.

The UK economy has slowed after poor overseas trade figures put a record drag on growth, leaving household spending to drive the recovery and casting further doubt on George Osborne’s hopes that strong tax receipts will help him hit ambitious budget targets.

▽Black Friday sales fall 10% from last year | The Guardian

Total sales in the US on Black Friday fell 10% to $10.4bn this year, down from $11.6bn in 2014, according to research firm ShopperTrak.
The decline in sales on the traditional busiest shopping day of the year has been blamed on shops opening the day before. But this year, sales on Thanksgiving also dropped, and by the same percentage, to $1.8bn.

Top Gear will return to the BBC on Sunday 8 May, its new presenter Chris Evans has said.
During an interview with James Martin on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen, he said the first episode would be screened the Sunday after filming finishes on 5 May. Evans said producers had “already started making the films”.
