First post-Brexit vote data shows UK inflation rose to 0.6% in July | The Guardian

It was the highest rate of annual inflation since November 2014, and the first official snapshot of what has happened to prices since the EU referendum on 23 June. The pound has fallen by about 10% against the dollar since the vote, pushing up the price of imports.

FTSE 100 firms' pension deficit soars, says LCP - BBC News

LCP, in its annual report on the pensions market, said that by the end of July, the deficit was an estimated £46bn, as against £25bn a year earlier.
And this month, the deficit has widened further to £63bn, LCP told the BBC.

The last tower of the iconic Riviera Hotel and Casino was reduced to rubble during an overnight implosion on the Las Vegas Strip... Once known as a classic mob joint, "The Riv" was also used in three of the most famous movies ever filmed in Las Vegas, including the Rat Pack's original 1960 "Ocean's 11," the 1971 James Bond film "Diamonds Are Forever" and 1995's "Casino."
