▽Judge Orders Donald Trump to Stop Building Border Wall | Time

A federal judge on Friday blocked President Donald Trump from building key sections of his border wall with money secured under his declaration of a national emergency, delivering what may prove a temporary setback on one of his highest priorities... While the order applied only to those first-in-line projects, the judge made clear that he felt the challengers were likely to prevail at trial on their argument that the president was wrongly ignoring Congress’ wishes by diverting Defense Department money.

▽US court adds 2 experts to immunotherapy patents - NHK WORLD

A US district court has ordered that two US experts should be named as co-inventors for immunotherapy patents held by 2018 Nobel Prize laureate Tasuku Honjo and a Japanese pharmaceutical company.
The patents for the cancer drug Opdivo were granted to Honjo of Japan's Kyoto University and Ono Pharmaceutical. Opdivo is used across the world to treat cancer by boosting the immune system.
The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in the United States filed a lawsuit in 2015, claiming that the researchers, Gordon Freeman and Clive Wood, should also be recognized as inventors of the treatment.

▽Russia says its navy held missile drill on Etorofu - NHK WORLD

The Russian Defense Ministry's newspaper says the military fired new surface-to-ship missiles in a drill last autumn on one of the four Russian-controlled islands that Japan claims.
Krasnaya Zvezda reported on Wednesday that a missile unit belonging to the Russian Pacific Fleet conducted the exercise on Etorofu Island with the Bal system.
The system has a range of about 130 kilometers and is used for coastal defense. It has been installed in the islands, which Japan calls the Northern Territories, from 2016.

UK-based chip designer ARM has told staff it must suspend business with Huawei, according to internal documents obtained by the BBC.
ARM instructed employees to halt "all active contracts, support entitlements, and any pending engagements” with Huawei and its subsidiaries to comply with a recent US trade clampdown... ARM is a chip designer founded in 1990. In September 2016 it was acquired by Japanese telecoms giant Softbank, but remains based in Cambridge, UK.
