▽Ivan Golunov: Russian newspapers in rare support for charged reporter - BBC News

Three of Russia's leading newspapers have come out in support of a reporter charged with drug offences, in a case that has caused a huge public outcry.
The front page headlines in Vedomosti, RBC, and Kommersant read "We are Ivan Golunov", referring to the investigative journalist.
Mr Golunov was charged over the weekend with trying to illegally sell drugs. His lawyer said the drugs were planted.

▽Chinese carrier passes between Okinawan islands | NHK WORLD

Japan's Defense Ministry has confirmed that a Chinese aircraft carrier, the Liaoning, navigated between two islands that are part of Okinawa Prefecture... The Liaoning did not enter Japanese waters, and was reportedly heading south in the Pacific afterward.
This is the second time since December 2016 that a Chinese carrier has been confirmed to have passed between the two Okinawan islands.

▽Peru declares health emergency over Guillain-Barre outbreak

Peru has declared a health emergency in five regions, including Lima, after the deaths of at least four people linked to Guillain-Barre syndrome, an autoimmune disorder that attacks the nervous system.
Health Minister Zulema Tomas said Sunday that in addition to the deaths there were currently 206 cases of the disease.

▽Latin lovers tune in: Vatican broadcasts news in language of ancient Rome - Reuters

Vatican Radio is starting its first regular news bulletin in the language of Caesar and Cicero.
Called “Hebdomada Papae, Notitiae Vaticanae latine reddiate” (‘The pope’s week, Vatican news in the Latin language’), it is the latest in a series of initiatives to broaden use of Latin, once a staple of Western European education and the language of all Roman Catholic services.

▽Nintendo is working on a full sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - The Verge

Nintendo has announced that it’s working on a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Nintendo Switch, in a surprise announcement at the end of the company’s E3 presentation.
The news was accompanied by a short teaser, which showed the return of the iterations of both Link and Zelda from the previous title exploring a cave, before encountering what looks a whole lot like the corpse of Ganondorf himself beneath Hyrule Castle.
