Chinese army help clear protest debris at Hong Kong Baptist University | Hong Kong Free Press HKFP

Chinese army personnel have helped to clear debris left by protesters at Hong Kong Baptist University in Kowloon Tong.
The cleanup operation began at 1pm on Saturday as community groups moved bricks and barricades which had accumulated on Junction Road over the past week. According to District Councillor Ho Hin-ming, who helped to organise the effort, the group began to clear Renfield Road at around 4pm when - half an hour later - at least 50 personnel from the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) emerged from the nearby barrack with buckets and brooms to shift the remaining items.

The Duke of York has said he "let the side down" by staying at the home of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, adding it was the "wrong thing to do".
Answering questions about his links to Epstein for the first time, Prince Andrew said his stay was not "becoming of a member of the Royal Family".
The prince spoke to BBC Newsnight's Emily Maitlis in an interview recorded at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.

Yamanote Line’s Takanawa Gateway Station nearly finished:The Asahi Shimbun

The first station set to open on East Japan Railway Co.’s (JR East) Yamanote and Keihin-Tohoku lines in Tokyo since 1971 sports a futuristic design that is distinctly Japanese.
The Takanawa Gateway Station is scheduled to greet its first passengers in spring 2020, in time for the Tokyo Olympics. Media representatives were given a preview of the construction site on Nov. 16.
The last new station to be opened on the Yamanote Line was at Nishi-Nippori 48 years ago. It is the first time for a JR East station in Tokyo to use katataka characters in the name.

Erika Sawajiri arrested for alleged drug offence | NHK WORLD

Tokyo police have arrested actress Erika Sawajiri for possession of illegal drugs.
Investigative sources told NHK the 33-year-old was arrested in Tokyo on Saturday for possessing the synthetic drug MDMA at her home. She has reportedly admitted that the drugs are hers... Sawajiri has appeared in a number of popular films, including "Shinjuku Swan," "Closed Note," and "Pacchigi!"

S.Sudan athletes train in Japan ahead of Games | NHK WORLD

A group of athletes from South Sudan is in Japan to prepare for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics more than eight months before the Games get underway.
Three athletes, one para-athlete and a coach arrived in Maebashi City north of Tokyo on Thursday.
South Sudan became independent in 2011 after a long civil war. Maebashi has welcomed the team for a long period due to their home country's poor training facilities.
