BBC News - Japan downgraded by Moody's amid rising fears over debt

Moody's has cut Japan's credit rating by one notch over rising doubts about its ability to reduce debt levels.
The decision by the ratings agency sent the yen to a seven-year low against the US dollar.

Jiji Press had intended to publish an image of the smiling Duke of Cambridge alongside a story about his planned visit to Japan in February. But instead, a photo of his wax counterpart from the Madame Tussauds attraction in New York was sent out, The Asahi Shimbun reports. The error wasn't picked up until the following day, when a different member of staff noticed the photo was not as lifelike as perhaps first thought.

In a highly personal speech, he told of the pain the couple suffered when they lost their first child, Jennifer, shortly after her birth. He also revealed that problems with his eyesight in Downing Street were more serious than previously admitted.
The former Labour leader suffered a serious rugby accident at the age of 16 which blinded him in one eye, and he required lengthy treatment to save the sight in the other.

A paedophile doctor who abused 18 vulnerable young cancer patients has been sentenced to 22 years in jail.
Myles Bradbury, 41, from Herringswell, Suffolk, worked as a paediatric consultant haematologist at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, where he carried out medical examinations on boys "purely for his own sexual gratification", Cambridge Crown Court heard.
