Jeremy Corbyn is on course to win the Labour leadership contest with an increased mandate thanks to overwhelming backing from the party’s newest supporters.
Mr Corbyn is leading his rival, Owen Smith, by 62 per cent to 38 per cent, according to the first published poll of those entitled to vote in the election. Last year Mr Corbyn secured a 59 per cent share of the vote.
