‘Get Ready for Brexit’: government launches information blitz | The Guardian

The billboards have been unveiled, the branded mugs have been ordered and the adverts will soon start following you around the internet after the government launched what it claimed to be the largest ever public information campaign in an effort to prepare the British public for leaving the EU.
The Get Ready for Brexit campaign went live on Sunday, stating that the UK would be leaving the EU on 31 October and urging the public to visit a new website to check what they needed to do to prepare for a no-deal exit.

US and Taliban 'close' to a peace deal: Afghan group's spokesman | Afghanistan News | Al Jazeera

The Taliban and the United States are "close" to finalising a peace agreement in their talks in the Qatari capital aimed at ending the 18-year Afghanistan war, the group's representative has said.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, the Taliban's political spokesman in Doha, Suhail Shaheen, said the two sides were finalising the agreement during the ninth round of negotiations, which entered their seventh day on Wednesday.

Airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition fighting Houthi rebels in Yemen hit a university used as a detention center in a southwestern province on Sunday, killing at least 60 people, officials and the rebels’ health ministry said.
A spokesman for the International Committee of the Red Cross said the death toll could be more than 100.

An Islamic State jihadist suspected of beheading more than 100 people in Raqqa and who has possible links to the Paris and Brussels attacks has been captured in Syria, the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces said.Anouar Haddouchi, who is of Belgian origin, was captured in the eastern Deir Ezzor region, around 100km (60 miles) from the Iraqi border, SDF spokesman Mustefa Bali said on Twitter.

Spanish pop singer, 30, is killed by a firework as special effects go wrong during a live show | Daily Mail Online

The Super Hollywood Orchestra, which has 15 members including singers, musicians and dancers, was performing in Las Berlanas in Avila last night.
While the group were on stage one of the singers, named locally as Joana Sainz, 30, was 'hit in the abdomen' with the firework special effects device.
She was rushed to hospital after the incident with severe injuries but later died
