Hong Kong student dies after fall in a parking garage during weekend protests - CNN

A 22-year-old Hong Kong university student who suffered a severe head injury after falling in a parking garage close to the scene of protests has died, hospital authorities confirmed Friday, a development that could further inflame tensions in the semi-autonomous Chinese city.
Police say Chow Tsz-lok, a computer sciences student at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), fell from the third floor to the second floor of a parking garage in the residential area of Tseung Kwan O in the early hours of November 4. The incident occurred as police clashed with protesters during a nearby anti-government demonstration.
The Hong Kong Hospital Authority confirmed that Chow died at 8:09 a.m. local time on Friday.

Toyota to partner with BYD in China | NHK WORLD

Toyota Motor says it is launching a joint venture with China's largest electric vehicle maker, BYD, to research and develop battery-powered electric vehicles.
Toyota says the two companies have agreed to get the new firm up and running by the end of 2020, and to evenly split the capital needed. The new company will be based in China, and will also develop frames and parts for electric vehicles.
Toyota and BYD earlier agreed to jointly develop two types of electric vehicles over the next five years. They plan to sell the cars in China under the Toyota brand.

Ex-entertainer Masashi Tashiro arrested again for drug possession

Former entertainer Masashi Tashiro was arrested Wednesday for allegedly being in possession of illegal stimulants in Tokyo and northeastern Japan earlier this year, police said... According to the police in Shiogama, his suspected possession came to light after the accommodation informed them that "a customer forgot weird stuff" on Aug. 24.
When the police apprehended Tashiro on Wednesday for the case in the Tokyo district, where his home is located, he was also found to have drugs and arrested at the scene, they said.

Napoleon Bonaparte's general believed unearthed in Russia - CNN

A one-legged skeleton unearthed by a team of archaeologists is believed to be one of Napoleon Bonaparte's generals, Charles-Etienne Gudin, according to a French historian and former soldier.
A team of French and Russian archaeologists discovered the 200-year-old skeleton in July during an excavation in the Russian city of Smolensk, which lies about 250 miles west of Moscow.
