In a dramatic last-minute about-face, the South Korean presidential office announced Friday that it will reverse course on its earlier decision to end a key intelligence-sharing pact with Japan - just hours before the expected expiry of the deal.
The announcement by Seoul, which saved the General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA) - at least for now - came in the face of strong and persistent pressure from the United States to keep it alive.

Russian Watchdog Detects ‘Radiation Incident’ in South China Sea - The Moscow Times

The Russian government’s consumer protection watchdog Rospotrebnadzor said Friday it has detected a “radiation incident” in the South China Sea.
“Based on data received from the Global Environmental Monitoring System, there’s an increase in background radiation in the South China Sea in connection with a radiation incident,” Rospotrebnadzor said in an online statement.

Najash rionegrina was a type of early snake with hindlimbs. Researchers uncovered eight skulls, including one that was almost perfectly intact, as well as other fossils in the La Buitrera Palaeontological Area of northern Patagonia in Argentina.

Two boys die in India after falling into cooking pots of sambhar lentil stew - CNN

A three-year-old boy has become the second child to die of burn injuries in southern India this month after both fell into large cooking pots of hot stew in separate, unrelated incidents... Two people, including a school principal, are being investigated by police for negligence resulting in death over a similar, but unconnected, incident on November 13.
In that case, a six-year-old kindergarten student named Behlapuram Reddy died after falling into a pot of sambhar at a school in Panyam village, in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh state.
