The families of the 191 people killed in the Madrid train bombings have attended a ceremony with Spain's King Juan Carlos to mark the 10th anniversary of the attacks... Flowers have been laid and candles lit at the sites where bombs exploded on four commuter trains on 11 March 2004.
Another 1,800 people were hurt by the blasts at the height of the rush hour.

One in 20 prisoners are gipsies, says official report - Telegraph

Gipsies make up one in 20 of the jail population, according to a new report by an official watchdog.
Research by Nick Hardwick, the Chief Inspector of Prisons, found gipsies and travellers were “significantly over represented” in adult prisons in England and Wales, making up 5 per cent of the total.
The figure would equate to more than 4,200 people at current jail population rates.

One million Brits can claim to be direct descendants from vikings, DNA study reveals - Daily Record

ONE million Britons can claim direct descent from vikings, a DNA study claimed yesterday.
The genetic study, commissioned to celebrate the season two premiere of hit U.S. TV show VIKINGS on the Amazon Prime Instant Video streaming service and carried out by BritainsDNA, compared gene markers passed from dad to son, from 3500 men to six Norse DNA patterns.
