President Donald Trump abruptly announced in a tweet Tuesday that he has asked national security adviser John Bolton to resign, noting that he "strongly disagreed with many" of Bolton's suggestions "as did others in the administration."
... The tweet came just one hour after the White House press office said Bolton was scheduled to appear at a Tuesday press briefing alongside Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.

Moody's downgrades Ford's credit rating to junk status

Moody's Investors Service on Monday downgraded Ford's credit rating to junk status, citing expectations that the automaker will be weighed by weak earnings and cash generation as it pursues a costly restructuring plan... Moody's dropped its rating for Ford's senior unsecured notes to Ba1, the top rating for debt that's not investment grade. It had been Baa3, Moody's lowest investment grade rating.

Apple kicked off its annual fall product launch on Tuesday where it unveiled new iPhones, Apple Watches and an iPad, as well as new details about Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade.

The nomination of Koizumi, 38, who ranks highly in public polls as a potential candidate for future prime minister, would make him the third-youngest lawmaker to be appointed to a senior position since the end of the war, according to NHK.
