Joe Biden turns 78 today, set to become the oldest US president

Joe Biden’s birthday is Friday, and at 78 years old, he is set to become the oldest president in the nation’s history when he’s sworn in this January.
President Trump was previously the oldest president sworn in, at 70 years and 220 days old.
Before him, the eldest honors went to Ronald Reagan, who was 69 years and 348 days old on Inauguration Day.

2019 saw a record high for reported hate crime murders in the United States, according to the annual Hate Crime Statistics report released on Monday by the FBI... 51 people were murdered as a result of hate crimes in 2019-more than double the number in 2018, and the largest figures since the federal government began tracking the numbers in the early 1990s.
This total includes the 23 people who were killed in the El Paso mass shooting last August. The suspect, Patrick Crusius, is facing federal hate crime charges.

The Boy Scouts of America will be facing at least 92,700 claims of sexual abuse as former scouts submit filings against the bankruptcy-bound organization, said one of the lead attorneys for the legal team representing the claimants.
The initial estimate of 82,000 claims was released on Sunday. The updated number of 92,700 came from bankruptcy court after the 5 p.m. deadline for submitting claims Monday, attorney Andrew Van Arsdale told CNN in an email.

A court ruling on Friday announced that indebted Huachen Automotive Group, parent company of BMW's Chinese joint venture partner Brilliance Automotive Holdings, will undergo bankruptcy restructuring.
As creditor Gezhi Automobile Technology Co claimed, Huachen's liabilities have outweighed its assets, meeting the requirements for bankruptcy. But the company is still worth restructuring, said the ruling by Shenyang Intermediate People's Court.
